Ron and Sharon Hayes are retiring after thirty-two fulfilling years at Alaska Rainbow Lodge

Alaska Rainbow Lodge 1982

Ron, Sharon, and Gracie

After fifty-five years in the hunting and sport fishing business, I’m hanging up my hat. 2016 will be my last season at Alaska Rainbow Lodge. If you fished with me in the last five years, you already know Chip – he was one of your pilots. I’m happy that the Ferguson family will take over as owner/operators of Alaska Rainbow Lodge and excited for them to start their own legacy in the wilds of Alaska.

I’ll be working closely with Chip throughout the coming months and will be at the lodge to insure a smooth transition. If you’re already booked in for 2016 rest assured there will be no changes in the excellent service and attention to detail that the lodge is known for. I’ll be assisting Chip with the reservations for this coming season, calling on a lot of you to express my appreciation for your past patronage and hopefully, to fish with you one more time.

I have no doubt that Chip and Amanda will run a stellar operation.

Our phone numbers will be the same and will ring through to us for the next few weeks. I’d enjoy hearing from any of you that want to call me.

Alaska Rainbow Lodge- past, present, and future:

My wife, Amanda, and I are excited to announce that as of January of 2016, Alaska Rainbow Lodge will come under new management, as we begin the process of purchasing the lodge. Working with Ron and Sharon Hayes, we will continue to uphold the exceptional accommodations and outstanding experience you have come to know and love.

Since 2008, I have held many positions at Alaska Rainbow Lodge under Ron’s sage eye, including time as a fishing guide and camp hand. For the past 5 years, I have served as a pilot, flying clients to their fishing adventures and back to the lodge again. A passion for the outdoors, and Alaska Rainbow Lodge in particular, has driven me to pursue making the lodge our lifestyle and livelihood. I cannot wait to share this incredible experience with our guests.

My wife, Amanda, who will manage many of the day to day administrative duties, has a background in human resources and accounting. She’s worked in the high-energy, fast-paced production and event design industry and is an avid backpacker and skier.

This coming season, Ron will be at the lodge with us to share his wisdom and pass the torch, ensuring that we maintain the tradition of excellence Alaska Rainbow Lodge has provided its guests for the past three decades.

Together with our son, Wyatt, and golden retriever, Tango, we are eager to welcome you all to the lodge and are excited to continue this Alaskan wilderness institution that Ron and Sharon have built.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have. Phone lines and lodge email addresses will be switched over in a few weeks. Meanwhile, Ron and Sharon can be reached at 817-236-1002 or 800-451-6198, and you can call me directly at 972-544-2050. We’re here to make your stay as exciting and memorable as possible.
