We have spent the last few weeks here in Bristol Bay and Katmai National Park fishing for Kings, Rainbow Trout and Sockeye Salmon. We have also enjoyed several days of bear viewing and rainbow trout fishing at the world famous “Brooks Falls”. The weather continues to be some of the best in years with temperatures still reaching the high 60’s on some days. The Alagnak, Kvichak, Naknek and American Rivers have all been fishing well.
The Brooks river cameras are also on-line again this year allowing for real time viewing of the action that so many people come to Katmai National Park to see. You can check out the live images at EXPLORE.ORG
The sockeye counts are continuing to grow for the Kvichak drainage to over seven(7) Million fish! We are anticipating an excellent rainbow trout year as a result, the fish are already staging up in our area rivers for what looks to be some incredible rainbow trout action in the coming weeks and into the fall. You can view some interesting data on the returns by visiting the Bristol Bay Summary for area Salmon returns and in-river counts by location or read about it HERE.
We still have limited openings for those interested in a last minute booking, don’t hesitate to call us for more information. And remember, You can always stay in touch with us on FaceBook or the ARL website.
