Our last guests left a few days ago. My guides and staff are bringing in our boats and gear that were deployed on rivers spanning the Katmai river systems. Back at the lodge, crews are winterizing our motors, tanks, buildings, vehicles, waterlines and generators. At this time, Sharon and I are standing on our dock, watching the Kvichak River flow to the sea. We talk about this season, this lodge, our guests, staff, pilots and guides. It’s the end of a season that was – in every way – outstanding, exciting, challenging, rewarding and so memorable…like every year in Alaska.

To all of you who visited the Alaska Rainbow Lodge, thank you. On behalf of my guides, pilots and staff, thank you for choosing the Alaska Rainbow Lodge for your annual Alaska fishing adventure. I know you had lots of choices. That’s why we’ve spent more than 40 years working to make this lodge the best of its kind. Our entire staff’s mission is to deliver an experience that is perfect in every way possible. We work hard so our guests will have the time of their lives, experiencing the best Salmon, Trout, Grayling and Dolly Varden fishing in the world, and do it with style, comfort and class. It takes a full-time staff of 20 to take care of 16 guests for one week – I believe this is another thing that separates Alaska Rainbow Lodge from all others.

I hope we were able to meet your expectations of service, quality and the fishing experience. And I hope you reeled in fish until you got tired!

But it’s time to close the season on 2012. So for now, let me thank you again for making Alaska Rainbow Lodge your lodge. I hope to see you all again next year. We will be here, with Trophy Rainbow Trout and awesome King, Silver, Chum and Coho Salmon fishing on these legendary rivers, waiting for you, and at your service.

Tight lines my friends,
