by Michael Bales, Head Guide at Alaska Rainbow Lodge

Hello from the Kvichak River here in Bristol Bay Alaska! The first month of the 2013 Alaska fishing season is now behind us. And what a month it has been! We’ve had a great King season and the rivers are ALL fishing good. Brooks river dry fly fishing, American River rainbows and char, Grayling in the Becharofs and our home river just to name a few. The sockeye migration has begun and we are looking forward to the next few months of some fantastic angling action.

We started the season with record high temperatures across Bristol Bay and the entire state of Alaska. It did not affect the fishing though as you can see.
The Nushagak river as well as the Naknek and Alagnak rivers have produced some great days for Kings!

I look forward to seeing you here in Alaska this summer for some excellent Alaska fishing here at ALASKA RAINBOW LODGE. Do not hesitate to contact Ron, Sharon or myself if you have any questions about the fishing or would like any information about visiting us this season or next year.
